HOW CALIFORNIA CLOSETS DID IT
Doina created the initial layout for Jacey’s walk in closet, and then they worked together to polish the specifics of the design.
One important element to consider was a large standing mirror, which features prominently in Jacey’s photography. The placement of the mirror was critical — not only for lighting and perspective but to ensure certain elements of her closet would be visible in the images.
Additionally, Doina and Jacey both worked to maximize storage as much as possible. They came up with a design that utilized dead corners so the system wrapped seamlessly around the edges of the room, resulting in an extremely effective use of space.
Many of the closet’s best features are somewhat hidden. Behind the shaker-style doors are pull-out shelves for easy accessibility, and retractable valet pins allow Jacey to display clothing as she stages the day’s outfit.
Smart integrated lighting – a very important feature in a frequently photographed space – also adds dimension and enhances visibility to Jacey’s wardrobe and accessories.

The contrast of the white finish with oil rubbed bronze handles make the space look elegant and refined.
