What They Wanted
The Cohn family wanted to rethink their playroom into a productive study where their teenage son and daughter could do homework, use the computer, and hang out with friends. Stacy Miller, the family's interior designer, collaborated with California Closets West Palm Beach design consultant Kara Roelandts to create a modern space inspired by Google's headquarters.
How we did it
After reviewing different design elements, custom features, and materials, Stacy and Kara met with the Cohns to propose the final design for a gender-neutral space that would be cool, clean, and durable enough to withstand the wear and tear of teenagers. Special features included built-in desks with magnetic markerboards of custom colored back-painted glass and a window seat.
final result
The results were beyond our expectations. We especially love the write-on-wipe-off magnetized back splashes behind each of the desks.
The entire family loves the renovated room. Comfortable and practical, it's the perfect spot to hang out and study.
