How we did it
After relocating from Manhattan to the suburbs, Parker and her husband wanted to create a whimsical playroom for their two girls. It was important for the space to evoke a strong sense of imagination upon entry while also offering storage for the girls' many toys and books. Their 1950s home presented them with an outdated basement that left much to be desired. She and Debra devised a game plan with floor-to-ceiling shelving intentionally designed to be open to allow the girls to see and access their toys. Deliciously sweet wallpaper in the form of macaron motifs and a leafy, floral Madeline Weinrib rug added the perfect finishing touches.

My girls are growing fast, so I wanted to make sure the playroom would grow with them.
