What They Wanted

After being away for many years, this husband and wife couple were looking forward to moving back to their hometown of Chicago. With lots of design ideas in mind, they decided to renovate their master bedroom closet. Having previously worked with California Closets in both New York and San Francisco, they were eager to have California Closets Chicago design consultant Debra Leb create a modern yet functional closet that would hold all of their belongings.

How we did it

At the top of this avid-traveling couple’s wish list: separate packing stations. For clothing, the couple wanted to keep the design simple and efficient with ample hanging space, shelving, and drawer storage. They also requested pull-down wardrobe lifts—similar to ones that were used in the closet of their New York home— for easy access to clothing hanging at the top of the closet. Additional custom details included beautiful lighting for the wife’s handbag collection and jewelry drawer. Debra even took advantage of an unused area under an electrical cabinet to perfectly accommodate several hampers.

I am really proud of how well it all came together. It definitely showcases the high-end European finishes and accents California Closets has to offer.
