What Caroline Kalentzos Wanted
A stylish, particular, and extremely organized couple, PR executive and blogger Caroline Kalentzos and her husband Costa had grand dreams for their new Mediterranean home. Storage and style were of equal importance: Caroline can’t stand clutter, plus she planned to photograph her space often for her blog, so the home needed to consider both. With floor plans in place and an aesthetic vision of white, glam, and clean, the couple was ready to explore custom closet solutions — and then some – with California Closets Richmond.
California Closets took care of every request, bringing our modern meets Mediterranean house dreams to life. I still wake up every morning and pinch myself.
How California Closets did it
After discussing closet ideas, design consultant Maya Ruza-Wilkerson informed the couple that California Closets creates custom storage for the whole home. Before long, Caroline’s project list included the laundry room, media nook, kitchen pantry, and several more closets.
His-and-her primary closets were still top of the list: for Caroline’s closet, Maya prioritized elegant storage for designer wear and accessories, matching her vision of white and gold through finishes and hardware. In Costa’s closet, Maya emphasized the island’s stunning Dalmata stone with a black and white color scheme.
To organize Caroline’s coats, Maya transformed the bedroom’s seating area into storage space complete with a champagne fridge. She even customized the laundry room to organize every necessity from detergent to dog beds.
My favorite feature is Caroline’s bag/shoe display, which came out beautifully with glass doors and lighting. It looks like a luxury boutique that she has the pleasure of shopping in every day!

In total, ten custom designed storage solutions completely transformed the couple’s new home. From hidden storage to gorgeous hardware, every detail is considered for a beautifully organized space catered entirely to Caroline and Costa.
