What She Wanted
California Closets Vancouver design consultant Emma Beaty knew she could create a special space for her client who had been using rolling racks and boxes as a temporary solution for her colorful, carefully curated wardrobe.
With a wish list and a photo of what she had in mind, Emma’s client envisioned drawers surrounded by open shelving to display her beloved handbag collection, plenty of hanging space, and a shoe wall where she could store all her shoes in their boxes.
She wanted a classy and simple space—with a touch of sophisticated bling—to display her vibrant and lovingly curated wardrobe.
How we did it
Emma worked closely with her client to transform the second bedroom into an organized walk-in closet.
Designing around the sunlit room’s unusual angles and large window to create a three-wall system, Emma carefully measured every handbag and shoebox to make sure it would fit as planned. She also incorporated the client’s vintage chest of drawers into the shoe wall design.
For a personal touch, the client installed her own palm frond wallpaper, which nods to her Californian roots.
final result
I think the space is really fun—bold colors and textures—and her personal style is what’s on display. Her wardrobe is the showpiece of the space.
Emma’s custom system offers a smart storage solution with a place for everything. A clean, white design with touches of gold hardware lets the client’s collections of clothing, shoes, and handbags shine and remain organized. With all her items beautifully displayed, the client was both in awe and relieved.
