What She Wanted
Sports anchor and reporter Cindy Brunson covers plenty of highlights in her job, but the excitement around finally having her dream closet was extra special. For her new home, having the perfect closet was a must! Cindy had a specific vision in mind and to achieve it, she collaborated with California Closets Phoenix design consultant Katie Bryant to create a custom design that checked all boxes.
We started on a Friday afternoon and worked through the night eating hummus and cucumbers, taping off the floor plan (9 different times), measuring every piece of clothing, and adjusting the design until it was absolutely perfect!
How we did it
Organization, functionality, and a wow-factor were all key components for Cindy. Her complete wish list included glass cabinet doors to display and protect her leather jackets, an extravagant shoe display, elegant lighting to showcase her handbags, jewelry drawers, and very generous hanging space for her many dresses. Every piece in Cindy’s wardrobe needed a home, including the sports career-inspired shoes she had custom painted. With no detail left uncovered, Katie even designed a custom mitered frame for Cindy’s wall safe.

Tidying guru Marie Kondo insists we organize and purge clutter by what "sparks joy." Thanks to Katie my entire closet sparks joy! The simply elegant functionality of the space is everything I dreamed of and more!
For both Cindy and Katie, great teamwork and synergy made the entire project fun and a stunning success.
