WHAT ANTONI POROWSKI WANTED

Antoni Porowski, known for his roles on Netflix’s Queer Eye and Easy Bake Battle, wanted to maximize every inch of space in his New York City condo.

Throughout his home, he had a number of areas where he thought California Closets’ systems could help bring a new level of functional ease into his everyday life. These included: an entry closet, den closet, primary bedroom closet, and a large hall closet

Antoni and his interior designer shared the vision for these spaces with designer Keith Johnson from California Closets New York City. The two most important goals were visibility and accessibility, to ensure nothing would be too hidden.

“We started the process on Zoom where we talked through various aesthetic options and his storage needs for each area. I took notes on everything he wanted and just ran with it.”

HOW CALIFORNIA CLOSETS DID IT

One of the biggest challenges in this project was that some of the spaces served two different needs. For example, the large hall closet needed to account for overflow hanging and shelving from the primary bedroom closet, but it also needed to serve as Antoni’s pantry.

Keith found a way to make this one space feel and function like two. He also incorporated all the small details Antoni envisioned for each space. From the finishes chosen and LED strip lighting to the custom sunglass drawers in his primary closet, every detail was designed with intention.

“I can’t tell you how many (sunglass) pairs I’ve ruined because the lenses would get all scratched up.”

Seamlessly dividing one oversized closet to create a dual-purpose space has given Antoni the efficient storage his home lacked. Plus, with California Closets solutions throughout, organization has a cohesive feeling, room-to-room.
