A Home Office Design that Doubles Down on Style and Function

THE HOME OFFICE THEY WANTED
Semi-retired yet still very active, Anne and Lynn Conley’s shared workspace had become cramped and lacked flexibility. They needed a custom home office design that could serve multiple uses and adapt as their lifestyles changed.
More than an office, the new design would function as a home gym and yoga studio, plus offer a dedicated area for Anne’s sewing machine and craft projects. They also wanted to eliminate clutter, cords, and wires to achieve the modern, Zen-like aesthetic of the rest of the home.
The Conleys knew what they wanted but just needed design assistance to bring it all together. We had excellent communication and together we brought their vision to life
HOW CALIFORNIA CLOSETS DID IT
The goal was clean, linear lines. California Closets Raleigh design consultant Lynn Cummins created three walls of continuous desk space, installed stacks of drawers for art supplies, and reconfigured power outlets so wires were no longer exposed. Custom storage ensured non-essential items could be tucked away while yoga mats and accessories are concealed in cabinets. Additionally, a dedicated craft area in front of the window made room for Anne’s sewing machine.
The finished design is so pleasing to the eye. Everything is functional. And we have tons of out-of-sight storage.

Now a functional and intuitive multipurpose work/play space the couple can both enjoy, the hardworking office joins the Conley’s many custom California Closets spaces that already include a garage, primary bedroom closet, kitchen pantry, and front entryway.
