How we did it
Jeanne worked with California Closets San Francisco design consultant Sarah Winge. Jeanne wanted to create a multi-functional playroom with plenty of storage for toys and games along with a dedicated area for doing laundry. Most importantly, Jeanne wanted to make sure that the playroom design was one that could easily convert over time into an effective home office space once her daughters were older and outgrew their toys. With all of this in mind, Sarah incorporated lots of open shelving, as well as working spaces for art & crafts and a perfect reading nook. Jeanne and Sarah agreed that cubbies would provide accessible storage for the girls’ toys now, and would also be well suited for books or binders needed for an office space in the future. For the laundry area, Sarah used closed shelving and storage to keep cleaning supplies out of sight.
I love the versatile space we created that Jeanne and her family can appreciate now and for years to come.

Simple yet effective, Sarah’s custom design gives Jeanne the multi-functional and transitional solution she needed. Jeanne’s girls love their playroom, and the design optimizes the room so that they can really utilize and enjoy their play area, and of course—to Jeanne’s delight—keep it tidy!
