Banning Boring Offices: 3 Tips for Inspiring Work Spaces
An inspiring home office environment creates an energetic atmosphere and motivates productivity. Also, being surrounded by a creative ambiance makes for more satisfying workdays or, at the very least, an office environment in which you can appreciate spending time.
Because of this, we believe that boring offices should be banned. Companies shouldn’t have to sacrifice function to create spaces that are unique and enjoyable for their employees.
For example, when California Closets Tucson decided it was time to redo their workspaces, the team knew they wanted to cover all the bases. Their office solutions would be vibrant, lively and striking, with ample storage and plenty of desktop space for everyone to stretch their elbows and be productive.
The following key lessons from this redesign can apply to any office renovation, and result in a workspace that’s both stimulating and practical.
1. Think vertically. Sometimes when people imagine new workspace storage solutions, they think horizontally, forgetting to build upward. In the Tucson office, the designer used staggered, vertical shelving slices to utilize a good portion of the available overhead space without creating a domineering wall of storage.
2. Embrace color. Adding a few pops of bright color puts a smile on everyone’s face. Bold color panels create incredible visual interest without overshadowing the rest of the room.
3. Plan for the future. When you know exactly how much storage you need, you can design and build accordingly. The designer knew she’d have to accommodate one computer tower, a laptop, and a self-contained monitor and processor for each workspace. Therefore, she created an appropriate layout to fit current needs, while ensuring room for growth as well.An inspiring office environment creates an energetic atmosphere and motivates productivity.
